The Village of Cudworth is located within Buckingham-shire in Southeast England and borders Greater London, Berkshire to the south, Oxfordshire to the west, Northamptonshire to the north, Bedfordshire to the Northeast and Hertfordshire to the East. While it is not an enormous center of trade with a population of hundreds of thousands like London, it is by no means a small village. Members of nearly every trade, profession, and social status historically would have been represented here. The Lord Mayor of Cudworth has requested that the villagers, crafts-people, musicians, performing troupes and food vendors gather together to create a marketplace Faire. The village is radiant with color and celebration rules the day. Why, even a Tournament will take place to honor her Royal Majesty! The Village is bordered on one side by a fae filled “haunted” forest and another by a series of medium size waterways and affords the village a small port.

The HSRF is a theatrical “wink” of a 16th century European village. The village of Cudworth is itself fictional, however, it is based on a real town by the name of Marlowe.
The HSRF was introduced in 2018 with six acres at the Garland County Fairgrounds. We had 110 plus exhibits, attractions, and entertainment offering its visitors an opportunity to step back in time to an enchanting representation of a 16th century Eng-lish village.

The HSRF features over 150 performers, representing various entertainments of the time – including jousting knights on horseback, dancers, villagers, peasants, historical characters and a variety of musicians. Over 85 artisans fill the village, working in mediums such as glass blowing, pottery, leather work, blacksmithing, sculpture and candle making, just to name a few.

The crafts and entertainment combine with thematic games and foods to create a glimpse of marketplace celebrations and life in the 16th century. The Faire is open rain or shine for 2 days on the first weekend of November. The HRSF leadership is looking forward to the upcoming years as we advance the mission of the nonprofit side with the Gates Family Entertainment. The HSRF is a re-creation of the celebrations that took place when Queen Elizabeth visited a village in Her Realm.
